Word & Story exists to provide counseling that is Christ centered, theologically rich, individually tailored, and affordable for individuals within local church communities. We aim to support the shepherding work of the church by advancing gospel-centered care.
We also exist to equip and sustain biblical counselors by offering meaningful organizational support, accountability, and fair compensation as they serve the body of Christ.
Word & Story exists for two reasons:
1.) Word & Story provides affordable, Christ-centered counseling to members of local churches and surrounding communities. Our goal is to help clients grow in Christian discipleship by applying the truths of Scripture to their specific life situations.
2.) Word & Story also supports biblical counselors by offering training, operational infrastructure, and pathways for sustainable compensation.

Director & Secretary
Chandler holds a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Bellarmine University, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of Delaware. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling and Practical Theology at Southern Seminary. Chandler is a certified counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and has been actively counseling within the local church since 2019.
Since 2017, Chandler has served as the Director of Women’s Ministry at Holy City Church in Charleston, South Carolina, leading women's Bible study, teaching, and counseling. Her passion for gospel-centered biblical counseling is deeply shaped by her own story of God’s redemptive grace through seasons of infertility, her husband’s battle with substance abuse, and her own struggle with fear and anxiety. She finds great joy in helping women apply the truths of Scripture to life’s everyday challenges—opening God’s Word to show the surpassing worth of Christ and the unshakable hope found in his promises. Few things bring her more joy than witnessing the Spirit bring transformation and comfort to others through the living Word.
Chandler lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband, Mike, and their dog, Chloe. When she's not counseling or studying, you can find her walking the beach searching for shark teeth, watching college football (Go Tigers!), or enjoying a cup of (decaf) coffee with friends.Design Director

Statement of Faith here.
“…if faith were a matter of feelings only, then when things go wrong and feelings change, faith will go. But faith is not a matter of feelings only, faith takes up the whole man including his mind, his intellect and his understanding. It is response to truth.”
Dr. Martin Llyod Jones
John Calvin
“For true doctrine is not a matter of the tongue; but of life.”
